May 31 Rock the Beach 10K/5K Run/Walk
Friday, 5/30: evening before race day begin with packet pickup, late registration and spaghetti feed from 5:00-9:00pm. Saturday, 5/31: registration and packet pickup begins at 7:00am, Races begin at 8:30am on the beach at Second Street. The 5K route is entirely on the beach. starting and finishing at the same location.The 10K route is south along the beach to Tolovana Park then north along Hemlock Street through scenic Cannon Beach and finishing back on the beach at Second Street. The 5K is easy and the 10K is easy/moderate. Join us for our fourth year raising money for this great community cause, the Cannon Beach Preschool & Children's Center.The Cannon Beach Children's Center is the only state certified childcare center between Tillamook and Warrenton. The Children's Center is a not for profit organization that largely serves working families from all over the North Coast, caring for and educating infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Celebrating 50 years in Cannon Beach. Competitors dig and sculpt intricate sand art and everyone enjoys a day at the beach with beautiful Haystack Rock as the backdrop. June 23-September 1 Netul Trail Guided Walks:
The walk is offered daily at 11:00am and 2:00pm. The 1.5 mile tour begins at the fort and ends at the Netul Landing. Stroll along the riverbanks of the Lewis and Clark River. Artist reception is on Saturday, October 4, 5-7pm. Sculptor M.J. Anderson and fine art photographer Claudia Toutain-Dorbec will be paired in this dynamic two woman show. Claudia Toutain-Dorbec will be showing large scale color photographs that were taken during a residency at Claude Monet's Garden over a five month period in 2009. M.J.
