Through July 5 Grand Coulee to Grunge: Eight Stories that Changed the World
Focusing on eight key stories that helped put Washington on the map globally, "Grand Coulee to Grunge," is a traveling exhibit organized by Legacy Washington and the Office of the Secretary of State. An image-driven exhibit recounting feats in business, science, technology and music that helped put Washington on the map globally, each of the exhibit's eight panel's focus on a key story of those who strove to dream big and make a lasting impact. The Grass Roots Garbage Gang organizes hundreds of locals and visitors to help cleanup the 28 miles of beach. Anyone interested in helping is welcome to join. Celebrating the history of the IR&N Railroad, the only railroad that ran with the tides on the Long Beach Peninsula from 1889-1930. NPRA sanctioned rodeo with bareback riding, saddle bronco riding, bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, team roping and breakaway roping. Rodeo starts a 1pm daily. Hot Rods line up at the port of Ilwaco to compete in a coasting competition. Cars have approximately 15 feet in which to accelerate and then coast for 200 yards.
