Earth from Space is a U.S. Geological Survey and Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service project that explores how satellite images reveal structures and patterns on the earth's surface that have never been seen before. Space from Home tells the story of Jay Hardin, an amateur astronomer who spent 40 years exploring the skies with his homemade telescopes from his home on the shore of Baker Bay. July 14-16 Clamshell Railroad Days
An annual celebration of the Clamshell Railroad, which ran with tides along the Peninsula for 41 years between 1889 and 1930. July 18-22 SandSations
A sand sculpting extravaganza, culminates with teams (including families and children) transforming plots of sand near the high-tide mark into fantastic and fanciful creations for recognition and prizes.
