Tall Ships Sailing Schedule
Through July 5
Tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain will visit several ports of call along the Pacific Northwest Coast this season. At each stop, the tall ships will offer dockside tours, public sailing excursions and hands-on living history programs. Dressed in 18th century style clothing, the costumed crew is ready to tell tales of life on the high seas. The brig, Lady Washington embodies American maritime history of the late 1700s and early 1800s. She is a traditionally built replica that has appeared in several movies and television shows. Hawaiian Chieftain has a fascinating history originating in Hawaii. She's a swift topsail ketch that has sailed the Atlantic Ocean and visited Tahiti. Through July 13 Beyond the Point: Contemporary Knapping and the Object

July 2 Firecracker 5K Walk / Run

July 5 Beach Clean Up Day
The Grass Roots Garbage Gang organizes a beach clean up for the 28 miles of beach on the Long Beach Peninsula every January, April and July. Hundreds of locals and visitors come out to clean the beach. To volunteer sign in and pick up bags a 9:30am, meet organizers at any major beach approach (Seaview, Bolstad, Cranberry, Klipsan, Ocean Park, Surfside at Oysterville Road). July 16-17 Clamshell Railroad Days
This is a celebration of the Clamshell Railroad that ran along the Long Beach Peninsula for 41 years. Explore Ilwaco's historic Freight Depot and step inside an original passenger car, the NAHCOTTA, which is open only twice a year, 10am-4pm. July 29-30 Oregon Tuna Classic Deep Canyon Challenge Ilwaco
Fishing competition held along the Oregon/Washington coast with teams of four anglers competing to bring in the five biggest tuna in aggregate weight. The resulting catch is donated to area food banks. Prizes are offered for the top three teams. Port of Ilwaco 360.642.2400 [more info]
July 29-31 Long Beach Rodeo
The rodeo parade through downtown Long Beach kicks off the weekend at 6pm on Friday. NPRA Sanctioned Rodeo starts on Saturday at 1pm. Sunday: Slack starts at 9am and the rodeo kicks off at 1pm. August 5-7 Jake the Alligator Man Birthday Party & Car Show
An experience beyond description. Jake's Burlesque Bachelor Party kicks off this fun filled weekend with west coasts finest burlesque performers, live music and a celebrity emcee. August 15-21 Washington State International Kite Festival
This week-long kite celebration and competition is a world class event that boasts kies ablaze with color, high flying action and choregraphed movement. The festival draws famous kite fliers from all around the world and tens of thousands awed spectators, many of which participate in the fun with their own kite-flying adventures. September 9 Slow Drag at the Port
Hot Rods compete in a coasting competition along the Port of Ilwaco, 5-7pm. Cars have about 15 feet to accelerate before coasting about 200 yards. Port of Ilwaco 360.642.2400
September 10-11 Rod Run to the End of the World

September 16-18 Cache Dash Splash

September 17 Seaview Oktoberfest

September 23-24 Blues and Seafood Festival
