Winter Whale Watching
December 27-January 1 2019
Starting in late fall Gray Whales leave their feeding grounds in the Arctic and travel south to breed in the warm waters off Mexico. The Oregon Coast with expansive ocean views on elevated locations like coastal capes and headlands is a great place to spot these marine giants. During peak winter migration time, December 27 through January 1, 2019, the best whale watching locations along the coast, are staffed by trained volunteers to answer questions and help you spot a whale. March 23-31 2019 Spring Whale Watch
Spring watching begins in late March as the gray whales travel north on their way towards Alaska. Whale watching volunteers will be stationed at 24 designated locations from 10am-1pm. Various Locations [more info]
March 23 2019 SOLVE Spring Beach Cleanup
Join SOLVE and thousands of volunteers from 10am-1pm to clean up litter and marine debris from the entire Oregon coast. Since 1986, this home-grown tradition of twice-yearly beach cleanups has benefited people and wildlife alike, supporting clean seas and healthy communities. July 23-28 2019 Dune Fest
This premier ATV sand event has it all; motocross racing, sand drags, freestyle shows, charity auction and much more. Vendor row offers ATVs, clothing, crafts, ATV accessories and food. August 15-18 2019 Old Time Fiddlers Jamboree
The Oregon Old Time Fiddlers District 5 hosts more than 100 musicians and enthusiastic audiences from across the Pacific Northwest. Fiddlers, guitars, banjos and mandolins play Country, Cajun, Swing, Bluegrass, Folk, Waltzes and old time tunes. Participate in an open jam session – they're offered all day long – and concerts at the Grange Hall daily at 6pm. Admission by donation. Sunday Gospel show closes the event at 11am.
