Each winter, an estimated 18,000 whales travel south from Alaska, past the Oregon Coast on their way to warm-water lagoons of Mexico's Baja peninsula and the southern Gulf of California. Winter is the Gray Whale mating and birthing season and the enormous creatures undertake what is is believed to be the longest annual migration of any mammal, covering more than 5,000 miles to reach their breeding waters....[read more]
