April 29 Lunch in the Loft
Carol Cassella, author of three novels including her most recent, Gemini, will be our guest in the Loft at noon. Carol is an anesthesiologist and like her previous novels, Gemini revolves around a medical crisis. A young woman is found on the side of the road in critical condition, comatose and with no identification. When no one comes looking for her the ER doctor takes a personal interest in finding out who she is. Carol is a beautiful writer, doctor and the mother of two sets of twins. May 17 Seaside Spring Downtown Wine Walk
Seaside Downtown Wine Walk presented by the Seaside Downtown Development Association Event runs from 3:00-7:00pm Each Wine Walk brings hundreds of people to the downtown area for an afternoon and evening of great wines, great food and of course, great fun! The SDDA sets up different locations to sell commemorative wine glasses and check IDs. The glasses are required and sell for $10 each, ID bracelets are free (if you're over 21)! Participants are given maps indicating in which business each winery is located, and also tells a little about the winery itself. Then, promptly at 3pm the Wine Walkers are off and the fun begins! June 7-8 Seaside Beach Soccer Tournament
Don't miss this opportunity to play in the next great craze sweeping the nation. Played as a pickup sport on the beach for years, Beach Soccer was created in its current form of rules and regulations in 1992. June 14-15 Soccer in the Sand
The Nationwide Soccer in the Sand series is a two day, small sided 5v5 soccer tournament played in the sand with goalkeepers creating lots of shots and goals. June 22-29 The Miss Oregon Scholarship Program
The Miss Oregon Scholarship Program is an official preliminary to the Miss America Pageant. The first Miss Oregon Pageant was held in 1947 in Seaside. In the last 20 years we have offered over $1,500,000.00 in cash and in-kind tuition scholarships to the young ladies participating as contestants in this incredible program.The Miss America Organization is the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and in-kind tuition scholarships.The winner of the Miss Oregon Pageant advances to compete at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The walk is offered daily at 11:00am and 2:00pm. The 1.5 mile tour begins at the fort and ends at the Netul Landing. Stroll along the riverbanks of the Lewis and Clark River.
