In late fall, Gray Whales leave their feeding grounds in the Arctic and travel south to breed in the warm waters off Mexico. The Oregon Coast with expansive ocean views on elevated locations like coastal capes and headlands is a great place to spot these marine giants. Gray Whales are commonly sighted up and down the Oregon Coast during the annual winter migration, December 27-31. Experience delectable wild forest mushroom cuisine, culinary markets, cooking demonstrations, wine and beer tasting and live music. December 9-17 Annual Heceta Lightstation Victorian Christmas
A Christmas open house event on Saturdays and Sundays from 4-7pm. The Queen Ann style Keeper's House will be decorated with Victorian flourishes inside and out. Enjoy warm drinks and treats and performances by local musicians. Santa Claus will be there, and there will be a holiday raffle with great prizes from local businesses.
