
This region surrounding Grays Harbor offers miles of interconnecting fresh water lakes and canals and long stretches of sandy ocean beaches suitable for beach getaways, fishing, water sports and other recreational activities. Hoquiam, Aberdeen and Ocean Shores lie north of Grays Harbor, with Westport, Grayland and Tokeland south of the harbor. There are nine state parks between Grayland and Pacific Beach, including four with camp sites, each with its own special attractions. The Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge at Hoquiam is a major stopover for hundreds of thousands of shorebirds to rest and feed during their migrations, offering excellent opportunities to observe and photograph these birds.

The tallest lighthouse in Washington State is in Westport. There is also a campground and RV park at the site.
Grays Harbor Seaport in Aberdeen is home to tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain. The ships may be toured when they are in port.
