Between Seal Rock and Cape Perpetua lie the villages of Waldport and Yachats as well as 16 miles of unforgettable views and opportunities to park and walk to the water's edge. From tidepools to sandy beaches and primeval forests, this is nature at its best.

  • Cape Perpetua State Scenic Area

    Cape Perpetua State Scenic Area

    Enjoy spectacular highway wayside viewpoints or spend the day hiking through some of the 2,700-acre area's 26 miles of trails through old-growth forest. Visit the visitor center for information on nearby wave action at Devil's Churn, Cook's Chasm and Thor's Well. Day use areas and camping are available.

  • Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint

    Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint

    The Heceta Head Lighthouse sits in an idyllic setting on a beautiful headland. The park features a pretty cove beach, a large picnic area and a half mile trail to the recently restored lighthouse. The viewpoint at the lighthouse is one of the best locations on the coast for watching whales, sea lions and and sea birds. more info

  • Seal Rock State Recreation Site

    Seal Rock State Recreation Site

    Seal Rock makes an easy stop for day use exploring. The wayside offers paths and viewpoints overlooking near shore rock formations that are habitat for seals, sea lions and sea bids. The stretch of sandy beach offers access to tidepool areas. more info

  • Yachats State Recreation Area

    Easily accessed, you'll view the Yachats River as it meets the ocean. Explore tide pools, watch Gray Whales on migration, picnic and fish at this scenic beach area.

  • Driftwood Beach State Recreation Site

    Shore Pine gives way to beach access and picnic areas. Enjoy the day beach-combing and sunbathing or take in the sunset from this flat stretch of beach.

  • Waldport Heritage Museum

    Learn about the history, community, events and people of Waldport. The museum is open Wednesday through Friday from 12-4pm and Saturday from 10am-4pm. Admission is free.
