New Contemporary Gallery Space at Haystack Gallery

Article ImageSlice of Life by Pat Lambrecht-Hould Haystack Gallery in Cannon Beach will unveil their new gallery space, dedicated to contemporary art, during the 11th Annual Spring Unveiling weekend April 29 through May 1. This year instead of unveiling one artist, Haystack Gallery will officially unveil The Contemporary Gallery, located in the loft, beginning Saturday April 30 at 10am. The new gallery will feature the contemporary works of these artists:

Jeff Zigulis
Zigulis is strongly influenced by the Abstract Expressionist Movement. The artist's Painted Masks series has followed a specific language, guiding him through each mask. He varies the color families at times but they all come from the same beginning. The masks range from 20 inches to 72 inches tall.

Scott J. Morgan
For the past 29 years Morgan has combined his skills as artist and designer on canvas and in the landscape. His paintings evolve through an intuitive approach that requires a dynamic medium. Oil paint provides the flexibility to allow Morgan to move through many scenarios and dialogues with the paint. The structural and sculptural qualities seen in his work are influenced by his extensive career as a landscape architect.

Pat Lambrecht-Hould
Lambrecht-Hould began as a sculptor and later expanded into oil painting. She has spent the last 25 years working in watercolor and acrylics and now, works exclusively in mixed media. Her work is done on a gold-leafed surface using the leaf as a reflected light source. She characterizes her work as experimental. Lambrecht-Hould was named an Outstanding Young Woman in America and is listed in the World's Who's Who of Women.

Mike Orias
Orias uses his years of welding experience and musical appreciation to create instrumentalists who express their love of jazz or rock through the use of curved and wavy lines, movement and various textures. Barking dogs are reduced to their elemental forms as straight lines, and contemplative figures are made with gentle curves.

Rogene Manas
Manas' background includes work as graphic designer, art director and creative director. She has traveled in the US, Mexico and Europe studying painting, drawing, sculpture and jewelry-making. She is now teaching mixed media workshops at Clay Space in Eugene.

Sonya Paz
Paz has a passion for Modern Art, Pop Art, Cubism, Modernism and Surrealism. These combined influences can be seen in much of her work, where traditional styles compete with energetic pop art images of the past 25 years. Bold shapes and vibrant colors assist in creating an energetic and whimsical style.

Haystack Gallery invites you to a reception for the artists on Saturday, April 30 at 6pm in the gallery. Haystack Gallery, Cannon Beach (503) 436-2547
