Astoria's Scandinavian Midsummer Festival celebrates all things Nordic with three days of festivities June 15-17, 2018

For Scandinavians it's the mother of all celebrations, Midsummer Festival in Astoria commemorates this Oregon Heritage Tradition with three days of festivities at Clatsop County Fairgrounds, June 15-17.

Astoria's Scandinavian Midsummer Festival attracts thousands of visitors from near and far who are interested in exploring the rich culture and heritage of Scandinavian countries. From its popular Midnight Sun Breakfast to the Running of the Trolls, this three-day festival abounds with authentic attire, a royal court, beer garden, dance performances, Vikings and food galore.

By popular demand, Arrival, Canada's tribute to ABBA, will return to the stage on Saturday, June 16 accompanied by Fleetwood Mac tribute band, Dreams. Showtime is at 7pm. Concert tickets are priced from $15-$35 and includes admission to the festival after 5pm.

Other featured entertainment includes the Kleiveland Toppe Duo, known for their humorous interaction and contagiously fun mood as well as their culturally unique folk music from Norway. The Storis Limpan Band of Sweden will perform as well, with Magnus Holmstrom, a three-time world champion on Nyckelharpa, a traditional keyed-fiddle instrument that has been played in Sweden for more than 600 years.
