Super Seafood and Fine Family Dining on the Oregon Coast

Dooger's Seafood and Grill started as a small seafood restaurant in Seaside and has expanded to four coastal locations with a formula for pleasing everyone in the family.

Article ImageDooger's Seafood & Grill offers seafood with an emphasis on casual, family friendly dining. At Dooger's, they take seafood and family dining seriously. The downtown Seaside restaurant has expanded to four locations over the years with a formula sure to please everyone in the family, whether you're looking for steak and lobster, chowder or chicken strips. Dooger's restaurants are a family-run business that opened in 1983. "We are very customer oriented and will cook to taste," explained owner Doug Wiese. There are two kid menus. Their Junior Citizens menu offers many traditional favorites including macaroni and cheese, sandwiches and burgers, as well as coastal specialties such as prawns. "It's the same great food but smaller portions and smaller prices," explained Wiese. Their menu even includes a specialty dish created by their son, Carn, called the Carnwich. It's basically a grilled cheese sandwich with chicken strips stuffed between the bread. Not to be outdone, daughter Elie will also soon have a dish named after her. Wiese noted that, "We've had a number of requests for spaghetti so we plan on adding this to our menu in the near future and calling it spaghellie." For "The Very Small Fries," Dooger's offers a toddlers menu that provides half portions including half a grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly, tuna fish, or hotdogs - all served with a toddler portion of fries. The Small Fries menu also includes one piece of fish or one chicken strip with fries.

Mom and dad will enjoy Dooger's too, with their full menu that specializes in seafood cooked your way. Any of their fish dishes can be cooked just as you like it - fried, sautéed, Cajun, poached, or grilled. They'll even do specialty orders no matter how unusual the request.

Dooger's Seafood & Grills are located in Seaside, Cannon Beach, Warrenton and Long Beach. The Warrenton and Cannon Beach restaurants are open for breakfast and each have a lounge with a full bar. The Seaside restaurant now offers cocktail service. - by Cyndi Mudge
