Fisher Poet Dave Densmore will appear again this year at the 15th Annual Fisher Poets Festival in Astoria, Oregon.
Fisher men and women from across North America capture the rhythms of life at sea during performances at the 15th Annual Fisher Poets Gathering February 24-26 in Astoria. The Fisher Poets Gathering brings men and women tied to the fishing industry together to share poems, stories, songs, memoirs, essays and art in celebration of the work, its people and their concerns. Various intimate venues throughout downtown Astoria will host events during the three-day event, including restaurants and pubs, the Columbian Theater and the Columbia River Maritime Museum.
The program begins Friday at 4pm with films at the Columbian Theater and then rolls into evening stage readings and music at several downtown venues. Saturday morning features tours at Pier 39 and workshops at Columbia River Maritime Museum and Baked Alaska restaurant. Saturday afternoon has Story Circle at Astoria Event Center, a photo display and afternoon Riverkeeper reception at KALA, and films repeating at Columbian Theater followed by a program of Saturday evening readings and music. Finally, a Sunday Readers' Farewell Mike at Astoria Event Center.
An all-event button is $15 or become a patron with a Highliner pin for $30. Buttons may be purchased during programs at the doors of evening venues or single-event entries are $5 each.
