Seaside Baths Natatorium, a saltwater bath house and swimming pool that has since become the Seaside Aquarium.
In the fall of 1924, Seaside Baths Natatorium, a saltwater bath house and swimming pool, opened for business two blocks north of Broadway on Seaside's famous Promenade. A decade later, the building underwent major renovations to make its transformation into what we now know as the Seaside Aquarium. When it officially opened in 1937, the Seaside Aquarium featured a lunch bar in the southwest corner that now houses a gift shop. Several apartments, appropriately named the Sea Water Apartments, were added upstairs. While these apartments are no longer used, some remain intact, a testament to life in a bygone era. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Aquarium and to commemorate the occasion on May 25, admission prices will be rolled back to 1937 prices: 15 cents for adults, 10 cents for children.
