Few destinations offer as many kinds of experiences as the Oregon Coast and summer is a great season for all of them.

Travelers from around the world seek out stunning coastal viewpoints and natural areas when summer weather and colorful sunsets bathe the dreamy landscapes in warm light. Families escape the city heat for fun on the sandy beaches and couples slip away to enjoy romantic getaways. Hikers come to discover the remarkable views that beckon down the trail and surfers and paddlers load up their gear for watery adventures. Few destinations offer as many kinds of experiences as the Oregon Coast and summer is the busiest season for all of them. During the summer, the stage is set for visitors to discover some of the coast's most remarkable displays of nature. Large colonies of seabirds can be observed nesting on near-shore rock formations and the lowest tides of the year reveal fascinating sea creatures in the unique environment where the Pacific Ocean meets the rocky shore. You can come to relax and just let the sands of time slip between their fingers or seek to fill every moment with a new endeavor. Come for a luxury stay in a resort and fine dining or set up camp and cook around the fire pit. Whether you come to explore all 363 miles of the Oregon Coast or to spend a few days in your favorite beach town, summer serves up a wealth of pleasures. Enjoy the opportunities of summer and then plan to come back to delve into the other seasons. Each one offers unique experiences and you will discover a new personality of the coast with each visit. - By Gary Hayes
