DragonFire Gallery in Cannon Beach is now carrying the work of three new artists, including the encaustic work of painter and illustrator Rebecca Shapiro, the mixed media paintings of Dan Mish and the nature-inspired oil paintings by Anton Pavlenko. Northwest native Rebecca Shapiro creates botanical and avian imagery capturing her subject matter in many layers of richly colored pigments and beeswax. Her works hang in private and public collections across the country. Oregon resident Dan Mish creates canvases of bold color layered in a patchwork of abstract shapes and distressed surface textures, tempered with the epithet of a flower offering a balance between raw experience and hope. Anton Pavlenko, a Ukranian born painter now living in Oregon, uses oils in a manner similar to watercolor. He employs bold colors, texture and unique perspectives in his nature inspired work. Work from these three new artists is now on display at DragonFire Gallery, Cannon Beach (503) 436-1533
