This dish is a wonderful accompaniment to Thanksgiving turkey, as well as grilled meats and pates.
4 cups cranberries
1 cup raisins
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp cloves
1 cup water
1/2 cup finely diced onion
1/2 cup finely diced green apple
1/2 cup finely diced celery
Put the cranberries, raisins, sugar, spices and water into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and maintain a simmer until the berries pop, about 15 minutes. Add the onion, apple and celery. Simmer until the mixture thickens, about 15 minutes. Cool and refrigerate. Makes 4 cups.
