Stanfield Memorial Glass by Ruth Brockmann and Hal Bond located at the Driftwood Public Library in Lincoln City.
Artists Ruth Brockmann and Hal Bond have recently completed the Stanfield Memorial Glass Installation located in the south Commons area of Driftwood Public Library in Lincoln City, Oregon. Dedicated to the memory of longtime library volunteer and supporter Betty Stanfield, the 3 foot by 4 foot art piece contains ocean and sea life imagery as well as symbols of books and the arts. The art piece was designed around a theme of love of learning and consists of three glass art panels of kiln-formed glass fabricated by Brockmann with the assistance of Bond. Both artists have collaborated on several large architectural commissions in the Pacific Northwest, including a pair of murals in the lobby of the Portland State Office Building in Portland, Oregon. The Stanfield Memorial Fund and the Lincoln City Art Committee provided funding for this art piece.
