Larry Roberts Sculptures at Lawrence Gallery.
The sculpture work of woodcarver Larry Roberts is available at Lawrence Gallery in Gleneden Beach, Oregon. The North Bend artist is a retired shop teacher from a coastal high school who started sculpting from wood in 1982. A decade later, Roberts turned his hobby into a full-time job and his work has been seen in Oregon and California galleries since. His style, according to Roberts is a sort of "stylized realism." He enjoys carving wildlife; in particular he is interested in the drama and fierceness of raptors, as evidenced in his work. Roberts' intricately detailed pieces come from his own extensive research on the subjects. Each piece is individually carved and finished solely by the artist.
