Lincoln City Spring Learning Feast, April 15 through 28, 2012

A two-week program featuring an interesting collection of classes in Lincoln City where you can "Travel to Grow."

Article Image Each April the Lincoln City Visitors Bureau coordinates a collection of classes that make up the Learning Feast program. The idea is to provide a place for folks to get away while trying new things in Lincoln City. The program takes place April 15 through 28, 2012.

Offered to visitors as well as residents, classes cover a number of topics. There are classes at the Cultural Center for beginning photographers as well as a two-day workshop designed to supercharge your photography. If you prefer the kitchen to the darkroom, the Culinary Center is offering an intensive five-day course on French cuisine as well as a two-day, hands-on baking workshop. At the Community Center, the Oregon Paralyzed Veterans of America offer a free wheelchair basketball clinic followed by a game. If you want to spend time in the ocean, the Oregon Surf Shop is offering surfing classes and paddleboard classes alternating days over the two-week program. Have you ever wanted to make goat's milk soap? There is a class for that, too. Other classes cover art topics such as sculpting the human form, beginning woodcarving, watercolor painting and paper arts. Some classes take only a few hours and others offer two to five days of instruction. Costs of attendance vary by topic and supplies required.

This is the second year for the Learning Feast program in Lincoln City. Begun in 2011, the program offers learning opportunities for individuals, couples and groups. According to Public Relations Coordinator, Katera Woodbridge, there were approximately 100 participants in last year's program, with about 60 percent being visitors to Lincoln City. For more information about the Learning Feast, contact the Lincoln City Visitors Bureau at (541) 996-2119.
