Lawrence Gallery in Gleneden Beach has several upcoming exhibits for fall, beginning in September with Hans Schiebold who paints large-scale landscapes using mixed media. There is an exaggerated boldness to Schiebold's landscapes that, through their combination of color, texture and scale, represents a style uniquely his own. In October, the gallery feature Neal Philpott. Primarily a landscape painter, Philpott often chooses the Northwest environment as his subject. He works with layering paint, selective glazing and control of color temperature to achieve his distinct look. On display in November are abstract mixed media paintings by Korey Gulbrandson, whose current physical process includes texturing wax and acrylic paints over carefully crafted wooden canvases.
