There are three upcoming exhibits at the Cannon Beach Gallery during the spring months of March, April and May. Beginning March 3 and running through April 2 is "Fruits Of Our Labor." In a nod to the Savor Cannon Beach Wine & Culinary Festival March 8-11, this invitational show will highlight artwork that is thematically related to growing, preparing and enjoying food. Works will include blown glass cupcakes by Jon Cook as well as sumptuous oil paintings by Brian Cameron and Suzy Kitman. An artist reception is Saturday, March 3 from 6-8pm.
Another upcoming show at the gallery, "Under 18 Regional Art," features work by local elementary and high school students. This show contains 130 works from young local artists and runs from April 7-30 with an artist reception on Saturday, April 7 from 6-8pm.
Handmade books by Linda Piacentini-Yaple and works by Beth L. Robinson make up the "Books as Art" exhibit running May 5-30. An artist reception is Saturday, May 5 from 6-8pm. In addition, 40 regional artists will create an "altered book" by transforming discarded old volumes into surprising and new mixed media creations. For more information about these upcoming exhibits, call the Cannon Beach Gallery in Cannon Beach, Oregon, at (503) 436-0744.
